Sydney Sherman- Teacher/Choreographer

Sydney has been actively involved at Dancescapes since the opening in 2000.  She danced competitvely with the studio for 10 years and started teaching after graduating from Johnson City High School in 2013.  Throughout her dance career, Sydney co-choreographed the Wildcat Dance Team, participated in the Paul Taylor 2 workshop, danced in the Empire State Games opening ceremony, and has also won several awards and titles.  Currently, Sydney is studying marketing at BU's School of Management and eventually hopes to double major in visual communications. 


Taylor Mihok- Teacher/Choreographer

Dancing has always been a major influence in Taylor's life.  She has been dancing for about 18 years, dancing competitively with Nicky and Becky for 10 years.  Taylor was on the dance team all throughout high school and continued to take dance courses in college.  Recently, she has discovered her passion for teaching dance to kids.  This is her third year teaching at Dancescapes and she strives to spread her love of dance to her students.


Nichole Monico- Artistic Director

Nichole Monico started Dancescapes in 2000.  She has been involved in dance for over 35 years.  She danced competitively for 13 years in major competitions throughout the United States, winning numerous awards and titles.  She has taught dance classes and solos for over 20 years, winning numerous awards in choreography.  Nichole has been involved with many theater groups, choreographing shows for Johnson City High School and Binhamton High School.  She has also assisted in the implementation of the dance course for Johnson City High School, helping students achieve their fine arts diplomas.  Nichole has coached and provided choreography for local cheerleading squads, and donated her time to local church groups in their endeavor to participate in the arts.  Nichole has been both student and teacher in the dance field and prizes herself in using both of these experiences to better teach her studens and understand them. 

Rebecca Keefe- Teacher/Choreographer

Rebecca Keefe has been teaching at Dancescapes for 12 years. She brings fun and diversity into the class from her history in the arts. She was very active in the arts growing up, participating in many artistic groups including, dance, instrumental and choral groups, local theater, and show choirs. Rebecca followed her dream of the arts and  currently holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Special Education.  Rebecca has won numerous choreography, titleist and top tap group awards throughout the years. She has also assisted with choreography for shows at Johnson City High School. Day to day, Rebecca brings her creativity to Innovation Associates where she is a Software Engineer.

Dancescapes has been offering a wide variety of instruction in the Southern Tier for the past 15 years.  Whether you are a beginner wishing to learn the basics in ballet, tap, or jazz, or an advanced student wanting to further your pursuit in the dance field, Dancescapes has something for you.  At Dancescapes you will learn technique, terminology, flexibility, and discipline, all within a pleasant atmosphere and at reasonable rates.  Dance for a career, dance for exercise, or dance for fun! Jessica Lateer- Teacher/Choreographer

Dance has been apart of Jessica's life for the past 21 years.  She has been a part of the Dancescapes team since the opening in 2000.  She danced competitively for over 12 years, winning numerous titles and awards. She was the captain of her high school dance team where she choreographed several routines. While attending the College at Brockport, she was a member of the dance team for four years.  In 2011, she became a teacher/choreographer at Dancescapes.  After taking a year off from teaching dance she is very excited to be back at Dancescapes and cannot wait to share her passion for dance with her students.  Currently Jessica is attending Binghamton University to pursue her Masters in Social Work.

Jody Dimitriou- Teacher/Choreographer

Jody enjoys sharing her love of dance and tumbling with the Dancescapes dancers.  She trained in ballet, lyrical and jazz at Sherry Russo's School of Dance for 9 years and enjoyed a few seasons of competitive dance.  She was a member of J-Cats competitive gymnastics team with Coach Van Patten achieving 4th overall in category and age division at a Class III State meet.  She lettered with the Johnson City High School Varsity Gymnastics team.  She teaches Ukrainian Dancing at St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Binghamton University and works for Universal Instruments.
